From the Team: Why We Became RoofNut

Where It All Started

In 2018, our founder Andrew Christensen made a decision that would change things for a lot of Columbus homeowners — he left the traditional contractor world and bet on himself.

Andrew had spent years in the industry learning the trade, but what he saw too often was a contractor experience that fell short of what homeowners actually deserved. Too many handoffs. Too many unanswered calls. Too many jobs where the crew was gone before the homeowner even knew the work was done. He knew there was a better way to do it — and he knew Columbus was the right place to build it.

So he launched AC Roofing & Siding with a simple idea: build the kind of roofing company you'd actually want to hire. Show up when you say you will. Do the work the right way. Treat every home like it belongs to someone you know — because in Hilliard, it usually does.

Since then, the team has grown, the roots have gone deeper, and the community ties have become a real part of who we are. We’re not a franchise. We’re not a storm-chasing outfit rolling through after a bad hailstorm. We’re locals — friends, family, and neighbors who built something here from the ground up.

So Why Change the Name?

AC Roofing & Siding was a perfectly fine name — but over time, it became clear it was really just Andrew’s initials on a sign. As the team grew and the company became something bigger than one person, it felt right to turn the page. The brand had outgrown the name, and the name had to catch up.

Beyond that, we kept asking ourselves: if someone who didn’t know us landed on our website or came across our company for the first time, would they get a real sense of who we are? Or would we look like every other roofing company in the Google results?

The answer was honest: we looked like everyone else. And we’re not everyone else.

We’re the crew that actually answers the phone. That texts you updates without you having to ask. That will tell you the truth about whether your roof needs a full replacement or just a repair — even if the honest answer means less money in our pocket. We wanted a name that matched that.

Why RoofNut

The name didn’t come from a branding agency or a whiteboard session. It came from exactly where you’d expect — a conversation over beers with friends, family, and the people closest to the business. Someone said it, it landed, and it stuck. That’s usually how the right ideas work.

Look — RoofNut is a little nuts. That’s kind of the point.

It represents a new chapter for the company: one that’s less about the initials of a founder and more about the personality, the people, and the way we actually show up for Columbus. We’re neighbors who happen to be really good at roofing. We live in these same neighborhoods, drive the same streets, and put our name on the same houses we could see from our own front porch. We take the work seriously — but we’ve never been the type to hand you a stiff business card and disappear. We wanted a name that felt like us: professional enough to trust with your biggest investment, and human enough that you’d actually enjoy working with us.

RoofNut is both.

And honestly? The name fits Ohio just as well as it fits us. We’re the Buckeye State — a place built on hard work, loyalty, and people who are a little nuts about doing things right. That’s not a weakness. That’s the whole point. Being nuts about your craft, your community, and your reputation is exactly what separates the companies worth trusting from the ones worth avoiding. We’d rather be a little nuts than perfectly forgettable.

What Stays Exactly the Same

We know the first question on your mind if you’re a current customer: does this affect me?

Short answer: not at all.

  • Same crew. Same direct numbers. The people you’ve worked with aren’t going anywhere.

  • Every warranty we’ve ever issued is fully honored. Doesn’t matter when it was issued — we stand behind it, full stop.

  • Every active quote or bid stands exactly as written. No need to call us, re-request, or start over.

  • Same quality. Same accountability. Same guarantee.

The name is changing. The standard we hold ourselves to isn’t.

A Summer to Celebrate

To mark the occasion, we’re running two rebrand offers through the end of the summer — available to new and existing customers alike.

Claiming it takes 3 steps:

  1. Book your free home inspection. No pressure, no commitment.

  2. We come out, take a look, and give you a straight answer — no upselling, no runaround.

  3. Schedule your job before September 1st and the discount is automatically applied to your invoice.

*$1,000 off applies to full roof replacements and full siding installations only. Partial repairs and patch work do not qualify. Free gutter guards valid on full gutter installations only. Offers may not be combined. One per household. Must be booked by September 1, 2026. Cannot be applied to previously quoted jobs.

Know Someone Who Needs a Roof?

We built our reputation one referral at a time, and we don’t take that lightly. If you refer a neighbor, friend, or family member who completes a job with us, you earn up to $500 through our referral program — powered by ReferPro.

We’re proud of what we’ve built. We’re proud of the name. And we’re proud of every roof we’ve put on every home in this community over the last few years.

RoofNut is still us — just with a name that finally sounds like it.

Thanks for being part of this.
